About Me

About Me

Hello. My name is Jennifyr.
I am a British Chinese counsellor and psychosexual & relationship therapist.

I have been in the healing/therapy field for the last 15 years or so; training, attending workshops and undergoing therapy in various modalities.

Now in my 50s, and through the never-ending journey of exploring my passion for therapy and self-development, I’m now committed to providing a professional therapeutic service as an experienced practitioner.

I am a registered member with the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT) and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). As such, I am bound by their Codes of Ethics.

I am also a registered member of The Black, African and Asian Therapy Network (BAATN).

Credentials

I was born in Hong Kong, but lived in the UK from very young. I am British Chinese, my Chinese parents were born in China and Jamaica respectively. I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Business Studies and worked in professional services for 25 years plus.

In between working full time in the corporate world, as I commenced my 30s, I trained for several years and attended workshops in Life Alignment Therapy, Identity-oriented Psychotrauma Therapy (IoPT) and Family Constellations. I also participated in numerous group processes with The Landmark Forum and The Essence Process.

I do not use the above mentioned (non-psychosexual) therapy modalities or approaches in my talking therapy practice, but it can provide a holistic and spiritual context for the work I now do with clients.

I gained my psychosexual and couples therapy experience at MIND as well as working for One Therapy, specialising in couples’ work.
