Psychosexual Therapy

With psychosexual therapy, the focus is on sexual health and wellbeing in all aspects rather than a focus on sexual dysfunction.
When it comes to sex and how we feel about it, we can sit too long in the intolerable continuum of shame and vulnerability which affects our sexual health and well-being.
My training is based on the integrative homeodynamic model which is a humanistic model of psychosexual therapy. This means, I will draw on different schools and models of psychotherapy and ways of working with human behaviour. I explore the dynamics of mind, body, brain and emotions, individually and in depth as required, including trauma, within the context of your sexuality.
The homeodynamic model for sexuality is sex positive; it promotes the pleasure principle and challenges sexual shame.
It integrates current thinking across multi-disciplinary fields, including psychotherapy, systemic therapy, neuroscience, cognitive-behavioural therapy, complementary therapies, and traditional Eastern and Western sexual and relationship theory.
I have experience of seeing clients from all backgrounds and a variety of presenting issues, for example but not restricted to:
Sex is really
only touch,
the closest of
all touch.
And it’s a touch
we’re
afraid of.
